A Startup Business
Kay Fitzgerald is a Trichologist (hair and scalp specialist) with her own startup hair loss clinic.
She already had social media pages on Instagram and Facebook, but recognised that in order to display a level of professionalism, communicate her services to potential clients and grow in the hair loss market, she would need a website.
After a few bad experiences with other website companies, Kay approached me to put together a website.
Initial Meeting
At our first meeting, it became clear what Kay was after. A no fuss, simple website without complicated bells and whistles, where she would have full control of the content, that her clients could come to to find out about her services and request a consultation.
We ran through my short list of questions to understand what she was after, showed her what I would use to build the website (Wix), agreed on the price and a few weeks later I had a first draft of the website to show her.
Getting it Right
From there, we had some back and forth – no website is perfect from the first draft.
The truth is websites are never perfect, and there’s always something that can be improved on. The key is (when creating a website for the first time) getting it to a point where your customers are going to have a good experience, can learn about what you’re after and then be willing to take the next step.
After our third revision, we had the website in a place where it was functional and ready for launch.
Don’t forget to Get on Google
Setting up a Google My Business listing is a key part of any start up business who wants to be found by customers on Google.
I set up Melbourne Trichology Hair Loss Clinic on Google My Business, and it has resulted in over 90% of her new client base, gaining a-client-a-day where they’ve booked in a consultation through the website.

Ongoing
With a website, there is always so much that can be done. As a business owner it can be overwhelming to work out what is the next best step. That’s why it can help working with a digital marketer like myself, who can point out where customer experience can be improved and what steps can be taken to produce real results.

From the Client
And here are some words from Kay Fitzgerald, owner of Melbourne Trichology Hair Loss Clinic about her experience:

“Thank you Brendan for creating my Melbourne Trichology website – you were so available and easy to work with! The public response has been unexpectedly great from day 1 of going live. I look forward to our continued working relationship and our next step working on social media pages! “
